Painswick is a small village with narrow streets and a limited amount of parking spaces. Directly outside of the restaurant parking is restricted to a one hour stay between 8.00am and 5.00pm. There are areas of unrestricted parking at the end of the Victoria Street and a public car park just beyond the churchyard. We will gladly refund anyones' tickets from the car park if they present them to us when paying their restaurant bill.
Our nearest town is Stroud and there is a regular bus service throughout the day. It runs once an hour and takes about 12 minutes. For more information and information about bus routes to Cheltenham and Gloucester contact

If cycling to Painswick I would advise taking the Old painswick Road or Wick Street route which you can pick up just opposite Stratford Park outside of Stroud on the A46. It starts with a stiff incline and then evens out on top of the ridge, a few little ups and downs and then a fantastic 10 minute freewheel to the bottom of Tibbywell and a murderous climb into Painswick. There's no shame in getting off and walking here, even seasoned cyclists pale at the thought of Tibbywell.
Stroud, Cheltenham and Gloucester all have mainline railway stations and connect easily via Swindon to London and directly to Birmingham and the North.
